I’ve mentioned before how expensive blogging can be.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be. You could easily have an amazing blog with incredible content without spending a penny. But sometimes it can be so worth spending a little to gain a lot. It’s difficult to predict what will be worthwhile but when it is, it’s money well and truly well spent. So what are my best investments?
Olympus pen 45mm lens
Probably the most expensive on the list, so I’m getting it out the way now. This is the blogger lens. When I first got into blogging, I could never understand what was so great about this camera lens. But now I’d be lost without it. I’ve learned it’s all well and good having a nice camera, but it’s the lens that does all the work. And this baby can take an average looking photo to a stunning editorial style image instantly.
White bed sheets
I’m pretty late to this, but a nice white duvet cover is legit the best photo backdrop ever. So simple but classic, who knew?
Having my blog as a .co.uk is a strong motivator for me. I don’t know what it is, but having my own website, not attached to a hosting site, eg wordpress.com, blogspot.com, is something I’m very proud of. This is my space. And I really think having your own domain is a super easy way to take your blog to the next level. To me it’s worth the $$$.
A lot of the photographs of myself on here have been taken by yours truly thanks to my handy tripod. Yep, I don’t have an instagram bf to take endless pics of me, sadly. So this is an absolute essential for me. (Plus super useful since I’ve started making youtube vids too eeek).
Nothing keeps me more organised than my bullet journal. An essential tool for my blog planning, scheduling and note taking. And actually my bullet journal blog post is my second most popular post on this lil blog thanks to my blogger pal Lauren who endlessly promotes it for me (thank uuu). She seems to find it useful, so if you’re not familiar with what a bullet journal is, check out my post to change your life!
And finally, Netflix. There is no better background noise to blogging than Netflix and endless reruns of Gilmore Girls. (Although I actually don’t pay for the Netflix account I use haha.)
So those are the investments I make as a blogger which I think are totally worth it. Have you invested in any of these?
